OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH X-RAY

What is Occupational Health Imaging?

  • Chest radiography is an important surveillance tool for monitoring employees health especially if occupationally exposed to hazardous dust and chemicals which may cause debilitating long term respiratory disorders, not limited to, pulmonary tuberculosis, asbestosis, silicosis and coal worker’s pneumoconiosis.
  • The prime purpose of surveillance in occupational health is prevention. Surveillance in occupational health practice covers both the periodic assessment of workplaces for evaluating hazards, and the periodic examination of individuals to detect early reversible ill health.
  • A single view chest xray is performed and reviewed by our radiologists and reported immediately following the requirements of the Occupational Health ans Safety Act 85 of 1993.
  • We now have a fully fledged digital mobile Xray unit capable of providing on site xray services, preventing downtime of having employees off site to the benefit of the employer and broader economy.
